Filomena The Fish |
Sea spirits give a fish called Filomena the power to change into different kinds of fish. She travels the world’s oceans; she changes forms to adapt to different adventures. She faces dangers, fights battles, makes friends, and finally makes her way back to the safety of the reef where she was spawned. |
In an ocean far away, deep under its waves, there was a reef of coral and tucked into this reef there was a magical pool. Now, what made this pool so special is that once every 10 years, the Sea Spirits who oversaw the pool would give a baby fish that was spawned there the power to periodically change forms so that it could experience what it's like to live as different types of sea creatures. Once the new baby was chosen by these Aquatic Spirits, all the new fish had to do to change form was to call on the Spirits and say three times "I WANT TO BE" and then state what kind of new creature it wished to be changed into. This magical power was known far and wide and many fish would seek out this pool as a spot to spawn their baby so it would have this power. Two Grouper fish, Flipper and Scaley, decided to seek out this pool to spawn their expected baby.
Although this magical pool was spoken about across all the earth's seas, its exact location was clouded in mystery. Despite this uncertainty, Flipper and Scaley thinking that, as smart, strong and daring Groupers, they could reach this magical place. They searched far and wide, across many seas and overcame many dangers in the hope that they could find the pool in time for their baby's spawning, and that their new baby would be chosen and granted this special power by the Spirits. The 10th year was almost here and the time for the Spirits to choose was close. Just in time, the expecting parents found the pool in a distant part of the southern seas. They spawned their new baby and named her Filomena. But would she be chosen?
After much discussion, the Sea Spirits did choose her. In a special ceremony where Filomena was recognized as "A CHOSEN ONE", the Spirits explained that, from this day on, although Filomena may face many dangers, the Spirits would watch over her, guide her, and protect her. However, they warned her that, although she would be under their protection, the seas were full of dangers for all creatures and changing form could bring unexpected perils ........
