Charlie The Christmas Tree |
Charlie begins his life as a seedling in Jack Frost's Christmas Tree Farm. As he grows, he struggles to be a worthy tree, but he can't keep up with his fellow trees. He meets disappointment after disappointment until Santa rescues him early on Christmas Day. |
It was late August, the air was starting to turn cool, especially at the North Pole where things were beginning to get busy. CHRISTMAS WAS COMING. There was only four months to go and there was so much work to get done before the big day. Santa walked over to the cozy bed where Jack Frost was sleeping in his mid-summer nap. Jack was Santa's special Christmas Tree Farmer and Santa relied on him to get all the Christmas Trees ready to brighten up the Christmas holidays.
"Jack, wake up. It's time to get to work. Christmas is coming," said Santa.
Jack got up with a big wide stretch, got dressed and headed south to his Christmas tree farm. Jack had a very magical farm where he raised each of his Christmas trees for 5 years. Just like in school, he had his Trees set apart into separate classes, a class for each year. There were the 5-year-olds - ready to become full-fledged Christmas Trees. There were the 4-year-olds, the 3-year-olds, the 2-year-olds, and the fresh seedlings just starting their Christmas Tree training. At the end of each August, when he arrived back at the farm from his mid-summer nap at the North Pole, Jack would complete the training of his 5-year-old trees. From each, he would cut a branch to create a new seedling. Then he would cut down the 5-year-olds to prepare them for their magical Christmas journey and in their place plant the new seedlings for their own 5-year journey from seedling to Christmas Tree.
As Jack was working with these 5-year-olds, he noticed that one of them was exceptionally big and full. He thought to himself that the seedling taken from this tree would be a very special Christmas Tree when it reached 5-years-old. So, Jack named this seedling "Charlie" and planted him in a special place among all his fellow seedlings. Jack then shouted to all the new seedlings
"My new seedlings - you will grow and learn over the next five years and then take a magical journey to bring light and cheer to everyone's Christmas, you will all make me proud, especially you Charlie" .......
